Business Development Manager, Electric Automation - Malaysia (CEJB 17 239)

Job Description:

Our client is a global Industrial Automation company and currently, there are looking for a Business Development Manager (Electric Automation) who is responsible for developing the sales of Electric Automation (EA) products and services in the market within Malaysia.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving sales of Electric Automation products in the sales teams in the whole of Malaysia
  • Ensure target accounts are monitored and activities take place to advance the sales cycle for EA in all industries.
  • Responsible for coaching of all sales functions to ensure they are motivated and driven to sell EA. Should ensure their knowledge, skills and attitude are all suitable for successful EA sales in Malaysia.
  • Responsible for driving the use of positioning drives by sales people. To ensure all members of the sales team are proficient in sizing single axis systems in point to point applications, independent of support and can explain the results to customers.
  • Responsible for ensuring potential for EA in all Strategic and Important accounts are regularly updated and represent realistic EA potential.
  • Responsible for monitoring the customer mapping process for EA in all industries, ensuring applications specific to the industry are driven.
  • To be a spokesperson for EA in the sales teams, presenting at large customer events where needed and large target customers.
  • Supports the sales in understanding how to identify potential for EA in customers.
  • Provides feedback to the marketing department on the needs of the sales team for marketing activities related to EA.
  • Foster positive relationships with Industry Sector teams across the countries, encouraging teamwork and optimising synergies across the industries.
  • Direct feedback to the Head of EA Southeast Asia on needs of the sales teams for sales support tools, products, opportunities and challenges in the market.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating the forecasting of Electric Automation products turnover for Malaysia.
  • Ensure campaign activities are aligned with the Electric Automation strategy and generate results in-line or above target.
  • Ensuring all activities also support sales of the wider company product range – particularly the Handling and Positioning, dynamic handling products from Cluster Engineering Services and electric automation range.
  • Be an affective spokesperson and ambassador for the company on subjects of trends in the automation industry, Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things.
  • Promote teamwork and motivate others encouraging a good team spirit.
  • Work closely with the BDM Team Leader for EA in Southeast Asia, to develop their own methodologies and coaching skills, taking advice and coaching to improve their own performance.

Job Requirements:

  • Technical University Degree (electrical, mechatronics engineering preferably; selective mechanical, chemical or industrial engineer)
  • 2 years’ experience in a successful sales role is important
  • 3-4 years focus in electric drives, motion, control or industrial automation
  • Understanding of motion industry is important. Other geographically relevant industry knowledge is an advantage
  • MS-Office; knowledge of key industrial PLC programs is an advantage
