Product Specialist - Low Voltage MCC and Medium Voltage Drive (CEJB 18 060)

Job Description:

Our client is a leading global Industrial Automation organisation and currently, they have commissioned us to search for Product Specialists (Low Voltage MCC / Medium Voltage Drive) for their Indonesia office who are responsible for owning and managing the Product Development Life Cycle (from introduction to obsolescence) with including product launch, price positioning, go to market strategy, product technical pre-sales support, product service advisory, delivery, customer satisfaction.  

The incumbent of this role is expected to support the commercial growth and financial performance of assigned products portfolio in the region which in turn contribute into and support the growth and profit of the region’s AOP. He/she accountable for the region’s marketing strategies and activities required to meet with annual sales plans and targets as well as representing the assigned products portfolio in SEA region, representing the region’s needs and performance to the Global Business Unit. In addition, he/she is also expected to provide leadership and support to the technical teams/ domain experts, ensuring effective market access as well as direct involvement with end-user customers, according to plan.

Responsibilities

  • Work with country sales & regional leadership in preparing and implementing technical and commercial strategies required in achieving planned volumes and market share objectives. This includes:
    • Develop and implement plans and strategies to support channels for planned volumes and ensuring channel conformance to products authorization requirements;
    • Develop and implement plans and strategic to assist Sales in identifying and converting competitive accounts;
    • Participate and contribute actively in ensuring implementation of annual SEA sales plans for assigned products portfolio.
    • Analyze the business performance against annual sales plans and initiate programs to achieve planned revenues for the region. Monitor and communicate findings to the appropriate stakeholders, regularly.
  • Provide update on new/ products to Sales and/or Channels teams to drive/increase awareness as well as improve the customer satisfaction for the relevant product/s. This include direct communication and imparting of knowledge on matters pertaining to technical specifications, products performance and commercial information, promotions, competitive information, analysis on current market data and evaluation of potential market via market penetration data.
  • Ensure proper training on features, benefits, capabilities, performance and application to Sales & Channel Sales to enable them provide technical and commercial information required in meeting with the customer’s requirements.
  • Manage products launches and promotions for the assigned country/ geography/ channels according to schedule, working closely with the Regional Marketing team. Support regional marketing activities such as trade shows, conferences, training and thought leadership events.
  • Support local Sales and/or DI Sales teams in driving appropriate awareness on assigned products portfolio and increasing opportunity creation with targeted customers/ industry by making joint sales calls on periodic basis.
  • Understand the customer’s requirements, identify opportunities to increase install base for identified products portfolio as well as the potential and critical issues that could impede upon successful implementation plans and collaborate with the relevant stakeholders (Market Access, Services, Engineering, Marketing, Competency, Field Quality Lead, Customer Care and Logistics, etc.) to get them fixed in timely manner. Provide value add to country/ business unit by offering competitive market intelligence as well as products gaps / growth opportunities on periodic basis. 
  • Assist in the coordination of information with local Support teams regarding application notes, products quality concerns, and products updates and provides regular inputs to Automation Control & Information Group Center of Excellence.
  • Develop local commercial programs to accelerate assigned products growth and provide the pricing guidance to pricing team. This is part of business development in leading assigned products growth strategy.
  • Keep business stakeholders apprise of market information including PAM, market share, products positioning, commercial positioning, quality, gaps and competitor information on assigned products portfolio.
  • Be accountable for the completion of annual corporate requirements including and not limited to participation in audit, reporting, training, CSR/ employee activities, etc.
  • This role will support the respective countries to find opportunities and provide power bundling solution, and also working by leverage on company’s control and automation (MES, Process Initiative and etc.).

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ prior experience in technical/ commercial role, preferably in assigned products portfolio. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and proven track record in growing products market share are essential.
  • Knowledge of Power Control (low / medium voltage drives &/or MCCs) with good commercial experience, preferably some pre-sales experience.
  • Exceptional technical and commercial experience, and able to work with all levels and has good network to build rapport and business partnership
  • Ability to make appropriate and effective use of spoken and written English to communicate, make presentation and negotiate with diverse individuals and groups
